Dashboard Drummer finishes third among the best two years olds in the country in
the Grade I Champagne Stakes at Belmont on Saturday, October 4, 2003. The race was
won by Birdstone, ridden by Jerry Bailey. He beat the favorite Chapel Royal, ridden
by John Velazquez by 2 1/2 lengths. Dashboard Drummer, ridden by Jose Espinoza was
6 3/4 lengths behind Chapel Royal. Dashboard Drummer will now go to a farm where
he will continue to grow and get stronger in anticipation of his 3 year old career. |

Divorce Lawyer Jay won a 25K maiden claiming race today handily at Delaware Park
beating True Blue Moon by 2 lengths. He stalked for the first 1/2 mile, and then
easily went by his rivals when asked to chalk up his first win. Ridden by R. Alvarado,
Jr. Divorce Lawyer Jay covered the one and 1/8th mile on the dirt in 1:53.4. |

Miss Crafty Pal won a six furlong maiden special weight for two year old fillies
at Monmouth Park today in an impressive time of 1:10.4. Ridden by C. Lopez she dueled
gamely down the stretch, dug in and showed great determination beating Medal of
Freedom by a nose. |

Dashboard Drummer beat Deputy Storm by 2 1/2 lengths in the $100,000 Grade III Sapling
Stakes at Monmouth Park on August 9th. Ridden by Jose Ferrer, Dashboard Drummer
covered the 6 furlongs on a sloppy track in 1:10.4. The Allen Iwinski-trained colt
returned $10.80, $3.60 and $2.10 in winning his third straight race. |
